COMPANY PROFILE
Background
Astel Diagnostics is a private enterprise incorporated on the 11th day of April 2006 as a limited company to manufacture locally and make available rapid diagnostic tests for health conditions prevalent in Uganda and countries in the region. We believe that by doing so, we are contributing to uplifting the quality of healthcare, promoting the health of our people and reducing the cost to the patient and the health system of medicines used for wrong *l Diagnostics has the state of the art laboratory, the first of its kind in the south of the Sub-Sahara except for South Africa. The laboratory can produce over 22,000 kits a day to meet the market demands. The kits provide instant results and are easy to use.
National Medical Stores and Mulago National Referral ...Hospital have pre-qualified Astel Diagnostics to supply test kits through out the country. Uganda Investment Authority recognized Astel Diagnostics (U) Ltd on 22nd January 2010 with an Award for the best upcoming small scale industry * award has come at the right time and has given us tremendous encouragement. Astel Diagnostics (U) Ltd has invested time and resources to achieve this milestone.

OUR TEAM
The technical team at Astel Diagnostics has a combined experience of over 40 years in research and development of diagnostics and senior staff has received specific training in the state of the art manufacture of diagnostic tests at one of the leading diagnostics manufacturing facilities in the world. Subsequent training of additional laboratory staff is continuously provided internally by the senior staff.
The Sales and Marketing team is well trained to give the sales and after sales support to both existing and prospective clients. We do welcome visits to our manufacturing premises upon request. Our channels of feedback are open and replies to inquiries are handled within the shortest time possible. The Sales and Marketing encourage collaborations and partnerships in the fight against eradication of tropical African diseases. Large organizations and Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are welcome to partner with Astel Diagnostics.
BRIEF PROFILE OF OUR SENIOR STAFF
Dr. Vinand Nantulya is the CEO of Astel Diagnostics. Dr. Nantulya is a medical doctor and career research scientist. His research has covered topics in the field of basic immunology, immunodiagnostics, vaccine development, parasitology, and international health. He holds an MD from the University of Dar es Salaam and a Ph.D. in Immunology from Nairobi University. He is Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (*. Nantulya has held senior research, teaching, consulting and management positions at premier institutions in Africa, Europe, the United States, and Asia and serves on a number of international advisory boards.
Dr. James Njuguna is the Research and Production Manager. James holds an Advanced Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, a Master of Science degree in molecular biology from the University of Bonn in Germany and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the same university.
