S4 stem is intended for use in the orthopaedic field for the noncemented surgery of the coxo-femoral joint. It consists of a straight, monolithic stem, flattened in the anterior and posterior sides. It performs an initial anchorage to the bone by means of a reliable press-fit in the intertrochanteric-metaphyseal area and, to a lesser extent, in the diaphyseal one, thanks to a wedgeshaped profile. The rotatory stability is guaranteed by the flattened profile of the stem and by the three stabilization fins situated on the two lateral faces of the bulb. The tip is rounded to avoid its blocking and an excessive stress on the bone.
