KHS is a registered, limited liability company in Ghana, formed in 2005 to make high quality health-related products available to the people of Ghana and the West African region. KHS serves as distributors and sellers of medical products, clinical laboratory reagents and supplies, and simple medical devices. KHS markets services and products directly to patients, health professionals, clinical laboratories, and agencies providing support for those persons and entities
Since its formation in March 2005, KHS has developed relationships with several hospitals, doctors, clinics, and governmental agencies. KHS has been providing high-quality products to clinical laboratories in Ghana. Among recent KHS clients are the following: Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, Korle-Bu Cen ...tral Laboratory, Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana, Tema Port Clinic, MedLab Ghana, Akai House Clinic. However, the largest client of KHS has been the Sickle Cell Foundation of Ghana.
In response to needs of a pilot newborn screening research project conducted in Kumasi, KHS developed a niche in being currently the sole supplier of supplies for newborn screening for sickle cell disease in Ghana. These include the neonatal hemoglobin test kits (Perkin Elmer), neonatal safety lancets (Owen Mumford), junior adhesive bandage (Dynarex), and other items used in this specialized screening programme. As the government of Ghana now seeks to expand this pilot screening programme into a national programme to cover the 650,000 babies born each year in Ghana, KHS, is in excellent position to secure the contract to provide supplies for the programme.
The management of KHS has decades of experience in medicine, medical services, public health, and sales and marketing of clinical and research laboratory products. KHS has conducted business with several foreign manufacturers and distributors including Dynarex and Safe-Tec (USA), HVD Vertriebs-Gesellschaft (Austria), Labnovation Technologies (China), and Tyco (South Africa). In addition, KHS has ordered general medical supplies as well as specialized research laboratory equipment and supplies through our agent in the U.S. for researchers and projects in Ghana. Read more
